Welcome!

The Afton Historical Society was established in 1986. It was the successor to the Jericho Historical Society and the Isabelle House Association. Our goal is to preserve, protect, and promote historic culture in the Town/Village of Afton through our research, website, publications, educational programs, and community outreach.

We are thankful for those who came before us, for they paved the way for the next generations through their hard work and dedication to the future.   For them, we remember them, by preserving their history, legacies, and memories.

Board Meetings (which are open to the public) are held monthly on the first Saturday of the month (call 607 743-3139 to confirm) at the Afton Town Hall, from January to November. Visitors and new members are always welcome.

The Museum is open, from Memorial Day through Labor Day, on Saturdays, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. or at any time by appointment (607-743-3139). The Museum is located at 116 Main Street, Afton, NY 13730.

Donations to the Historical Society are always appreciated.

Want to use a laptop computer loaded with a variety of Afton related databases and publications???  Visit the Afton Free Library to sign up to use this laptop in the library or, if you are an organization, to borrow the laptop for a program.  This laptop was funded by a grant from The Community Foundation for South Central NY.

Looking forward to seeing you !
